Round 2 is up: Limewash & Stone, taken further →
Remainder · website direction · Oct 9, 2026
RFour ways to build the ranch
Built from Melanie's Remainder board, all 58 pins. Each direction below uses a group of pins from the board, a palette pulled from them, and three renders: a hero, the soap box and the deodorant, all made from the real Remainder packaging. The logo, the type (Spectral and Archivo) and the site layout stay the same in all four. Only the colors, materials and photography change. Tap Approve, Maybe or Pass on each one and leave a note. Claude reads the votes before the next round.
What the board says
21Marble & Walnut kitchens and baths
15Limewash, stone and raw oak
11Lodge: leather, cowhide, longhorn, gates
6Coastal cowgirl
5Retro western collages
- A white or cream ground shows up in about three of every four pins. Light and bright is already the board's default.
- Wood is the second constant: walnut, white oak and reclaimed beams. Marble or stone counters sit under it.
- The western part comes through as objects (a steer skull, a cowhide, a gate, a leather chair), not through type or pattern. That's what keeps it upscale.
- The two gate pins (02, 35) both put a brand mark in the gate. That backs up the R-bar gate hero.
Claude's pick: Marble & Walnut as the base, with one or two lodge objects per shot (a cowhide, a leather tag, the gate). It's the biggest group on the board, it's the Eva Shockey look, and it stays light. The risk is that it looks like any new-build spec home. The cattle-brand objects are what make it Remainder.
Marble & Walnut
21 pins · the Yellowstone-money house
White marble, dark walnut, brass and black steel windows under big timber beams. A rich ranch house on a bright morning.
Palette

Vein#C9C4BC
Walnut#5A3A25
White oak#B48A62
Brass#A88449
Steel#1D1D1B
How the R-bar shows up
- Cut from steel in the entry gate (hero).
- Branded into the walnut round the bar sits on.
- A brass stamp in the footer and on the shipping box.
15 pins · quiet organic ranch
Hand-troweled plaster, pale limestone, raw oak, linen, sage and a little clay. Calm, sun-warmed and the most high-end of the four.
Palette

Limestone#D3C8B8
Sage#929C84
Clay#B2643C
Raw oak#9E7F60
Char#38322C
How the R-bar shows up
- Burned into an oak beam or door lintel.
- Pressed into the soap bar itself, like a maker's stamp.
- Least western of the four. The ranch comes from the materials, not the props.
Coastal Cowgirl
6 pins · Melanie's first idea
Sun-bleached cream, faded denim blue, tan and straw. A ranch near the ocean, soft and airy.
Palette (Sherwin-Williams "Coastal Cowgirl" set, pin 50; screen matches are approximate)
Cultured PearlSW 6028
Natural TanSW 7567
Tumblin' TumbleweedSW 9120
Cowboy BootsSW 9115
Dockside BlueSW 7601
St. BartsSW 7614
How the R-bar shows up
- Burned into a weathered wood sign on a fence.
- Stitched on a denim or canvas pouch.
- Only 6 pins back this one. It's the lightest look, but the faded blue pulls away from the cedar and pine scents.
Lodge Heritage
11 pins · old-time ranch
Cognac leather, cowhide, longhorn, antler and old timber. The working ranch with money behind it. Warmer and darker than the rest.
Palette

Antler#CDBB9E
Cognac#94552D
Saddle#4B3021
Slate#5B636B
Iron#1E1A17
How the R-bar shows up
- Burned into leather like a real cattle brand. This is the most literal version.
- Works best as an accent inside one of the others: a cowhide, a tag or the gate, not the whole site.
Left out on purpose
Five pins are retro western collages: rodeo posters, Cactus Motel, Cheyenne Frontier Days, boots and cherries. They're fun, but on a premium personal-care site they read as novelty. They could work later for a social post or a packing-slip insert, not the site.
The box and deodorant shots are built from the real package art the same way the current product carousel was. They are still first rolls, so judge the direction, not the finish. Once you pick, the next round makes the full set in the winning look: a homepage hero, product shots for each scent, and the R-bar on real objects.
